Cards on Thursday

Great colour combination this one and hope I am not too late to enter.  This week has really been messed around with illness, so probably won't have time for craft next week as work will have to take precedence.

What you need
Cardstock - SU black, white, Daffodil Delight
Patterned paper - Chatterbox Fine Tinsel paper in Kohl
Stamps - HA Large Flower; PTI Inside and Out: Birthday
Ink - SU Daffodil Delight (and marker);  Memento Tuxedo Black
Embossing Folder - SU Stripes
Ribbon - SU black satin
Pearl - Kaisercraft

******

Just a quick one here.  I am not absolutely sure of the pattern on this dress so steered clear of that as inspiration.  I went with a few colours I think I can pick out on the dress.  This CPS sketch is the previous week's challenge but didn't get a chance to participate, so I have used it anyway.

It could be a great way to use up scrap DSP or ribbon

What you need
Cardstock - SU white, Pool Party
Stamps - Uniko Studio Background Builder Lattice;  PTI Inside and Out: Thank You
Ink - SU Regal  Rose, Pool Party, Peach Parfait, Early Espresso
Die - PTI Ribbon Tails
Gems - Kaisercraft

The weekend's activities

Who could resist this beautiful spring wreath, and I thought it would be perfect with this sketch.  Initially I had flowers on the wreath but  it didn't work so opted for butterflies.

I think I will also enter it into the Basic Grey challenge - Spring Flowers.

What you need
Cardstock - SU Always Artichoke, Certainly Celery, Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink
Patterned paper - Basic Grey Sweet Threads
Stamps - WMS Asian Gardens
Ink - SU Early Espresso
Punches - MS Butterflies, Medium Branch
Gems and Pearls - Kaisercraft

The next challenge I chose was this great PPA sketch and my neutral patterned papers were still out, so I am hoping that my Dad will love this card in September and not think it's too girly - I don't think he will, he is a pretty artistic guy.

What you need
Cardstock - SU Choc Chip, Very Vanilla
DSP - SU Neutrals Collection
Vellum - PTI
Stamps - Wplus9 Woodgrain Silhouettes
Ink - SU Choc Chip, Creamy Caramel
Punch - SU
Die - SB Labels
Ribbon - Craft Supplies
Pearls - Kaisercraft
Glitter Dot - Pebbles

*****

This one is so out of my comfort zone but really wanted to have a go at it.  Maybe Dad would like this one or perhaps my daughter could give it to my husband.

What you need
Cardstock - SU black, white
Patterned paper - MME Miss Caroline - Dolled Up
Stamps - Wplus9 Woodgrain Silhouettes
Ink - Memento London Fog, Lady Bug
Die MFT tab
Pearls - Kaisercraft

And finally, this one took the longest.  Not sure why as I loved the colour scheme and the sketch from Stampin' Royalty.  Perhaps I was completely out of personal inspiration by then.

What you need
Cardstock - SU vanilla, Early Espresso, Creamy Caramel, Pretty in PInk
Patterned Paper - PTI Dearest Jane
Stamps - Gina K Great Sayings
Ink - SU Pretty in Pink, Creamy Caramel
Die - SB Picot Edge Circles
Ribbon - SU Pink Pirouette Striped Grosgrain

A couple of challenges

Hope everyone had a lovely Easter.  Yesterday we had our new neighbours over for a BBQ lunch.  There girls are alittle older than my daughter but that didn't stop them having a great time and the older girl (grade 10) was very patient with a grade 4'er.  Tried a couple of new recipes which were very successful.

I must admit I have really struggled with this one.  I love what Laurie does with Waltzingmouse  but, for me, there is SOO much going on in this card it was very hard to choose what to focus on, but hey, what do we do this for.  So, that being said,  I went with blue, yellow, the heart and the patterned paper on the diagonal.  I didn't trust myself not to go through vast quantities of my beloved October Afternoon paper in achieving the effect so decided to turn up the corner.

What you need
Cardstock - PTI white
Patterned paper - October Afternoon (Farmhouse)
Stamps - PTI Sweet Love, Pretty Peonies
Ink - SU Early Espresso;  Memento Dandelion
Twine - The Twinery (buttercream)
Other - Rose, thread

The next 2 cards follow a similar and much loved colour scheme.  Really wanted to have a go at the Paper Pals challenge and time is running out.  And the simplicity of the JUGS sketch really caught my eye.

What you need
Cardstock - SU Choc Chip, Pretty in Pink, white
Patterned paper - SU Neutrals collection
Stamps - SU Circle Circus, Four Frames;  PTI Mega Mixed Messages
Ink - SU Choc Chip, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink
Punches - SU
Pearls - Kaisercraft

*****

Yes, very similar colours but I love them.  What is it about brown and almost any other colour, maybe it's just me.  I haven't had a go at an I spy sketch yet so why not throw yourself in at the deep end with something that is technically challenging for me.

I didn't  think stamping Crumb Cake on pale pink would work, but in real life it does, and you can guess what patterned paper was still on my desk when I did this card.

What you need
Cardstock - SU Very Vanilla, Choc Chip, Pink Pirouette
Patterned Paper - SU Neutrals Collection
Stamps - PTI Pretty Peonies, Mega Mixed Messages
Ink - SU Crumb Cake, Choc Chip
Die - MFT
Ribbon and Brads - SU
Punch - EK Success
Pearls - Basic Grey

The challenges just keep coming .....

Well that's how it feels anyway.  This morning I got a lovely email from Claire Brennan (Waltzingmouse stamps) to say that I had won a refund on the order I put in last week.  Absolutely speechless was I (though in a typing sort of way).  So it is appropriate that the first challenge was CASEing one of the design teams cards from the Grand Calibur party.  The card I chose, an absolute hands down favourite for me, is from Belinda Chang Langner
Just love the subtlety and peacefulness of this card.  Mine however, is not, and lost abit I think, with using too strong a colour in cardstock.  I only have nestie-friendly WM stamps (this is being fixed) so unable to use any of Claire's stamps.
I was aiming for roses on the trellis but it looked 'symmetrical' and dull so opted for a PTI rosebud.

What you need

Cardstock - PTI New Leaf, white, Sweet Blush
Stamps - PTI YOF:  Rose;  Flourishes Tea Rose
Ink - PTI Ripe Avocado;  Memento Tuxedo Black
Copics - YG 11, 13, 15;  R20, 22, 24
Dies - Spellbinders Labels 16;  PTI Double Ended Banners
Gemstones - Kaisercraft

My second card is for Pals Paper Arts #78 featuring bows (love the graphic they have chosen)
Bows
Still on the Valentine theme....
Love all those gorgeous heart patterns, couldn't choose between them, so used them all. This bow is one of my favourites as it can be used on masculine cards.

What you need

Cardstock - PTI white
Stamps - PTI Heart Prints
Ink - SU Real Red;  Memento Tuxedo Black
Ribbon - SU Melon Mambo dotted grosgrain

PPA77 and CTD #125

NOTE:  This is my second post for today, and the sketch is just not playing ball.

Layered cards like this don't come easily to me (framing far more my comfort zone), but I have had alittle practice while using Niki Estes as my inspiration.  Nor is this very pastel colour palette.  I don't have Blushing Bride so used PIT Sweet Blush.  I thought later this would have looked good on Shimmer Pink cardstock.  Next time.
What you need

Cardstock - PTI Sweet Blush, Kraft;  SU Pear Pizzazz
Patterned Paper - Cristina Re gingham;  PTI Pink Patterns
Embossing Folder - SU Manhattan Flower
Die - SU Little Leaves Sizzlits
Flower - Prima
Ribbon - ? Maya Road
Ink - Memento Rich Cocoa
Stamp - PTI Damask Designs
Gemstones - Kaisercraft

Paper Pals Arts #72

Winter White Cropped

This is such a pretty collection of photos, I just had to have a go at this challenge.  I would have preferred a slightly lighter shade of  brown, but you have to go with what you've got, and I do like the result.
The layout is based on a Mojo Monday sketch from last year (26/10/09), with a couple of changes, and the plan was for it to be a Valentine's card for my husband.  Two problems with this, I don't have any valentine stamp sets (an oversight that is being rectified) and it is alittle too girly.  Will have to come up with something else - plenty of time.

What you need

Cardstock - American Crafts white;  SU Close to Cocoa, white
Stamps - PTI Year of Flowers:  Roses, Text Style;  Hero Arts heart (I think)
Ink - SU Close to Cocoa, Choc Chip
Pins - Maya Road
Ribbon - Cristina Re
Flowers - Prima
Stickles - Diamond
