Here are a couple of challenges I played with yesterday, though I really should pay a bit more attention to the layering on a sketch.  I stuck everything down then realised I didn't have a scallop detail or ribbon across the corner.  Oh well, necessity is the mother of invention, or so they say.

I have been trying out a few techniques that were demonstrated in Jennifer McGuire's Inspiration Showcase, namely, using Perfect Pearls. The little geometric designs were stamped in Versamark then dusted with Perfect Pearls, then "waved" through a mist of water.  Love the effect.  The flowers look a little unbalanced but really couldn't think of another way out of my dilemma.

This is the birthday card I made for one of my daughter's friends - actually Michelle's daughter.  It is based on a card Dawn McVey did about a month ago using Hero Arts/Basic Grey papers and stamps.  As it was a Hawaiian themed party, I really overdid the tropical flowers.

Hope she liked it and enjoyed her special day.

  1. Ohhh I just love the Hawaiian card and I don't think you over did the flowers at all :)

  2. Wow, these are some cool cards! Those graphic elements in the first card look great in those colors and I like the Perfect Pearls treatments. And your second card blows me away! The flowers are just gorgeous and your cutting skills are incredible! I can't imagine cutting out that many flowers for just one card, and so perfectly done, too. Nice job!

  3. The flowers were not overdone at all, they are perfect! I didn't get to take a look at the card until late last night, and when I saw it, I gasped. It's gorgeous. The big girl loves it, and she loves the gift, she's been planning how to use it all day today. :-) Thank-you!

  4. Lovely card, Cassie!. Thanks for joining us at the ColourQ.

  5. Wonderful card - love what you did with the colors! Thanks so much for playing along with us over at ColourQ this week.

  6. Love the technique you used on the color Q card. Also LOVE all the flowers on your Hawaiian card and it sounds like the birthday girl did, too!

  7. I don't think it's possible to overdo tropical flowers!!! Lovely!

  8. It was great to hear from you--I've been worried! Have a wonderful trip, and I'll be watching for when your inspiration--and you--return!

  9. Me again--thanks for the recent comments. I hear you about the PTI shipping times. Maybe you need a "shipping buddy?"--I'd be happy to help! You can always contact me through my Splitcoaststampers id via pm.

  10. Two lovely cards! Love the clean graphic look to the first card and the colors and flowers on the 2nd are so pretty!
