March PTI Blog Hop

WOW, the months are just flying by!  This month's challenge was to use thread imaginatively.  Well, I have come up with 2 cards, not necessarily imaginative but quite happy with the results
Being a cross-stitcher for many years I couldn't resist putting it on a card.  The other bonus to this is it uses up some of my fairly extensive range of embroidery cottons.

What you need
Cardstock - PTI white, Hibiscus Burst
Stamps - Taylored Expressions Summer Afternoon, PTI Simple Sentiments
Ink - SU Old Olive, Memento Rich Cocoa
DMC thread - 602, 603, 605, 818
Die - PTI Small Scallop
Gemstones - Kaisercraft

The second card  is based on CAS #132  (the sketch image won't load today)
Only I have flipped it upside down for a Christmassy effect.  At least I have the chance to use up some of this hologram thread (no idea why I bought it).

What you need
Cardstock - PTI white
Patterned Paper - ?? unsure, maybe Prima
Stamps - PTI Snowflake Serenade
Ink - Memento - Rich Cocoa, Bahama Blue, Rose Bud
Thread - Pink Hologram
Ribbon - SU Bashful Blue
Gemstones - Kaisercraft

  15. I love what you did with both of your cards today. The second card is so creative. I had not thought of making a Christmas card with the floss, but I have that stamp set and think I will give it a try. It really adds a little something to the stamping. Great job today.

  20. Cassandra, I have discovered that MANY people don't leave comments if a blogger has word verification in their post. You could always get rid of that but add comment moderation instead if you wanted to look at the comments before they show up on your blog. You should have had a ZILLION comments on this cross stitched card! It is FABULOUS!

  23. Both of these cards are wonderful. I didn't even think to do a X stitch, and I should have since I had originally bought all my floss for a X stitch project 15 years ago. Thanks for reminding me ;)

  25. It's a week later and I'm still hopping. Both cards are wonderful, but the first one is extra special. It is so beautifully balanced, the colors are heavenly, the vine is graceful, and the stitching is fabulous as it increases in hue. This is a card that speaks to both the heart and the eye.
