An unexpected day off

Overnight my daughter came down with the flu, and, as with most families, I suspect, there was negotiation as to who was staying home today.  My husband's day was full of meetings, so it was my turn.  For the record, he will be home tomorrow as she still isn't on top of it, so a little rest won't hurt.  So what is a girl to do but stamp.  Here are the fruits of the day.

I love Karen's ability to put patterned paper together, she makes it look so easy.  But for some it really isn't.

  1. Sorry to hear your daughter isn't well...but woohoo for extra stamping time. Love all the cards you created today. You're so right about Karen mixing and matching papers so well - you've done a pretty fabulous job yourself on that first card - which is my favourite of this little line-up.

  10. Oh my, what a pretty set of cards, Cassandra! Your mum stamping looks like layers of lovely patterned paper! I have such a thing for yellow, and when it's paired with white and aqua? Oooo that card makes me melty! Those My Mind's Eye papers on the top are some of my fave right now, and look so beautiful with your rose image. FABULOUS job on all of the challenges!

  12. I hope your gorgeous girl is feeling a bit better today. My girl has taken the day off sports practice today to cope with her cold - making it a much shorter day at school and a much happier girl!

Your cards are all lovely! I especially love the middle one - I love that sketch and that colour combo together!

  16. Yikes! I hope your daughter is better today! Her loss is our gain though, these are some wonderful cards. The patterned papers combined with that lovely (and expertly colored) rose is perfect! I think the second card is my favorite--LOVE those patterned papers (especially the quilt one!) combined with those colors and the stamps. And your third is a beautiful combination of handmade papers!
