A Bundle of Joy

It certainly has been a while since I blogged, unintentional, but if the motivation isn't there then there's no point pushing it - this is supposed to be fun.  It is school holidays now and my daughter and I are off to Victoria next week, so this week is my only chance to create and post.  I have a couple of birthday books to decorate before then so I may end up using card challenges for the covers.

This is one of my go-to designs for baby cards, I love the simplicity and gender neutrality (if that is the correct use of the word).  It covers 2 challenges, Just Add Ink - Just for Baby and Wee Memories - No Patterned Paper.

What you need
Cardstock - SU Sahara Sand, white, Barely Banana, Certainly Celery
Stamps - SU Eastern Blooms, Punches 3,  Polka Dot
Ink - Versamark; SU Certainly Celery
Filigree White Embossing Powder
Ribbon - SU Grosgrain Certainly Celery

This next card is one I did for a friend of mine whose birthday it was last week.  I hadn't used this set before and the inspiration was purely Maile Belles.  I think this set is going to take some practice but I do like how it turned out.

What you need
Cardstock - Bazzill Basics white, yellow
Stamps - PTI Gracious Vases
Ink - Memento Tangelo, Ladybird, Pear Tart, Cantaloupe

I have also been busy with the latest Papercrafts magazine submission, unfortunately none of mine were chosen, perhaps that may have reflected a lack of inspiration, but here is one that I really loved.  These sets really appealed to me, as I come from a chemistry background (thank you Deborah Fringes).

 What you need
Cardstock - PTI white;  Bazzill Basics Orange
Stamps - There She Goes Chemistry, Chem 101
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Copics

Amber at Damask Love has a Reject Blog Hop running, so check out all the other beautiful cards that missed out.

  2. Wow, I love the scien-tastic card! It's beautifully simple. Your colouring is fantastic.
The birthday card has been oohed and ahhed over. I had to admit I didn't make it, and that it was given to me, LOL!
And I used the "Little Bundle of Joy" stamp today, too (not on the blog)! Snap. :-)

  3. SO nice to see cards from you again! Looks like you got your Mojo back with a vengeance! Being a chemist as well, of course I love the flask card (isn't it funny what non-chemists think chemistry equipment looks like? But the real thing isn't nearly as cute.). And your vase card is classically elegant as always--love the colors, the paper-piecing, and placement! Your baby card is just gorgeous--the background stamping is so perfect I thought it WAS patterned paper!

  4. Glad to see you back! I love all of these clean designs, but I especially adore the last one with the chemistry flasks! That sentiment would be perfect for my hubby, since we're both science geeks. Thanks for sharing!

  10. These are all gorgeous, but if I had to pick a favorite it would be those vases. I haven't done much with that set either, but yours is wonderful! I'm quite surprised the last one didn't get picked up; the coloring is fabulous and the sentiment is just perfect.

  11. A neutral colour scheme for a baby card is very handy when you need to have one pre-prepared and you don't don't what sex the baby will be. Thanks for playing at Just Add Ink this week.

  15. Cassandra - what a wonderful set of cards - I've just been catching up with your blogs! And I just love, love the chemistry one!! Simple, colourful, fun!! My favourite branch of chemistry is organic chem especially with the transistion elements - so beautiful, so colourful - I'm not sure many people start chemistry because it's pretty - but it was one of my reasons!!! :) Thanks for the shout out too!
