Lazy Sunday Afternoons

Scroll down for my earlier post for Runway Inspired and Cloud 9 challenges.

There is nothing like it .... 3 kids (one of them mine) right outside my window, re-enacting Harry Potter (no idea which book, possibly never entered JK Rowlings head, this storyline).  Lovely to hear but hard to think.

My card is based on Karen's sketch, I completely forgot to add the tags at the bottom.  I may have another go at it if there is time.

What you need

DSP - SU Neutrals Collection
Stamps - SU Friends Never Fade;  PTI Mega Mixed Messages
Ink - SU Early Espresso;  Memento Morocco
Copic - Y38

For my second card, I wanted to stay with the darker colours, so while  the Neutrals papers were still out they got another go.

Again, my card is inspired by this past Sketchbook Saturday challenge.

The weekend that was

Now, this was a challenge.  The colours are a couple of favourites, but how to use them with this sketch. Hmmm  I didn't want to put Island Indigo card over the top of the Pool Party so went with vellum.  It is hard to see but the vellum is stamped with white flowers and then stitched

What you need
Cardstock - SU Pool Party, white, vellum
Stamps - SU Fifth Ave Floral;  TE Treasure Life
Ink - PTI white
Thread - DMC 598

So to my other card of the weekend - pink, black and white, wonderful.  I have tried the layering thing again, but with plenty of white space still.  I have used one of the older Mojo Monday sketches that I really loved.

What you need
Cardstock - PTI white, black;  SU basic grey
DSP - SU Brights Collection
Stamps - Verve Amazing Wishes
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Die - MFT flourish
Ribbon - PTI Smoky Shadow satin
Flowers -  Prima

For Your Inspiration #30

My inspiration for this challenge came from a blog post by Dawn Woleslagle of Wplus9 fame.  This one dealt with graduated colour or Ombre.  Love the effect and so easy to achieve even though at first it really looked amateurish.  Copics are so forgiving.

And I just love that die from Memory Box, so delicate.

This card should also fit nicely into the Simon Says Stamp "Clean and Simple" challenge this week.

What you need
Cardstock - PTI white, black;  X-press It blending paper
Stamps - PTI Inside and Out: Birthday
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Copics - YR 12,15,18
Die - Memory Box Prim Poppy

FYI #28 and WMS #94

Just a magical (if unreal) combination of colours.  A very different picture to the one that is outside my window at the moment - grey and dark.  I know it's nearly winter but the weather has changed so quickly - last week it was near 30C.

So here is my entry for these 2 challenges.  I was stumped with what to do with the strip down the middle so used a flourish as a border.  It didn't leave a lot of room for a sentiment but just got one in.

What you need
Cardstock - American Crafts dark pink: SU black, white;  PTI Summer Sunrise
Stamps - WMS Fancy Phrases, Florentine Frippery, Join Us
Ink -  Memento Tuxedo Black;  Versacolor Raspberry
Die - SB Tags
Punch - MS butterfly
Ribbon - ?

For Your Inspiration and Mojo Monday #233

For this submission, I have tried to emulate the Japanese style garden with those beautiful pinky red hues.  I have cut out and layered some of the flowers from the patterned paper, but maybe it is a bit busy.  Cristina Re does some lovely elegant papers of which I have tonnes and don't use it much, really need to remedy that.

What you need
Cardstock - PTI white;  SU Cherry Cobbler, Certainly Celery
Patterned paper - Cristina Re
Stamps - WMS Asian Gardens and Additions
Ink - SU Early Espresso, Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, Rose Red
Seam Binding - SU Cherry Cobbler
Pearls and Gems - Kaisercraft

Case Study #80 and For Your Inspiration #25

It's been awhile since I have done a Case Study challenge, not intentional, just life gets in the way of creativity at times.  But one of my favourite card makers is this months muse, so had to join in.  Laura Bassen has a lovely clean style that I very much admire and aspire to.

Here is my take on her card.  I have stayed with the heart motif and most of the colours (just couldn't fit blue in).

What you need
Cardstock - PTI white
Patterned paper - PTI 2008 Bitty Dot Basics
Stamps - PTI Heart Prints
Ink - Memento Rich Cocoa;  SU Lucky Limeade, Regal Rose, Peach Parfait
Gems - Kaisercraft

For my second card I deliberately went CAS and when you see the photo you will know why.

So impossibly beautiful and serene.  So, for me, I have chosen predominantly white with a touch of blue and pink

What you need
Cardstock - BB textured white;  SU white, ? Pacific Point
Stamps - PTI Turning a New Leaf, Mega Mixed Messages
In - Memento Bahama Blue;  PTI Melon Berry
Punch - SU
Gems - Kaisercraft

Tuesday Trigger and For Your Inspiration

Tuesday Trigger - Home Sweet Home

Loved the idea of some kind of house image but beyond that no idea.  I had hoped that I could have done this in one layer and submit it for One Layer Wednesday (masking) but had terrible trouble getting the fence straight so, no chance there.

What you need
Cardstock - PTI Kraft
Stamps - PTI Boards and Beams
Ink - Memento Rich Cocoa and marker;  PTI Fresh Snow; SU Real Red
Prismacolour White pencil

"For Your Inspiration"

Just beautiful, all these divine shades of green.  So I have chosen to go for 2 shades of green on a clean card.  I couldn't work out how to achieve the reflecton, so I will be interested to see where other people took this challenge.

What you need
Cardstock - PTI white, New Leaf
Stamps - TE CreativiTEA
Ink - Memento - Pear Tart, Rich Cocoa
Gems - Kaisercraft

A great technique for a beautiful photo

The challenge:  colouring ribbon with Copics.

The inspiration:  I want to go there!!

The card:  not that different from Nichole's but I do like it

I love the idea of being able to customise ribbon like this, unfortunately mine wasn't PTI and didn't appear to work quite as well.  The white edging really helps to lift the image and I love the navy flowers (thanks for the idea Michelle).

What you need
Cardstock - Bazzill Basics Navy;  PTI Kraft;  SU white
Stamps - PTI Botanical Silhouettes, Fillable Frames
Ink - SU Night of Navy, Old Olive;  PTI Fresh Snow
Copics - B12, B99
Ribbon and Gems - Kaisercraft
